Area 12e: Micro process Engineering

Area 12e Mission/Vision

Micro process technology is a key for the future roadmap in chemistry. A major task of the new chair is to build a bridge between micro process technology and industrial users in the field of process engineering and synthetic chemistry. To move from the present device and micro-flow operation level to a process & plant design for process development and chemical production is an essential step here. Also, to bridge to other innovative technologies like microwave chemistry, ionic liquids, process intensification, supercritical processing, etc. One other major field of application is energy, in particular via H2 generation by fuel processors for fuel cells. A major platform for such promotion and implementation is the bringing together of experts at application-oriented sessions, topical and conferences in the field, preferably those organised by AIChE and other organizations active in this field such as CPAC of Seattle.
